Terms of Use

What CarePathIQ is
CarePathIQ is authoring software. It helps clinicians and multidisciplinary teams build evidence-graded, consensus-reviewed clinical care pathways, and produces documents and machine-readable artifacts from them.
What CarePathIQ is not
CarePathIQ is authoring software intended for use by qualified clinicians. It is not intended for use as a medical device, and it does not practise medicine. It does not diagnose, treat, or make clinical decisions. Everything it produces is a draft for qualified clinicians to review, edit, ratify and take responsibility for. AI-drafted content is marked as such.
Nothing the software produces is validated by us. A pathway is not fit for clinical use until your own clinicians have reviewed and approved it under your own governance, and your institution remains responsible for anything it deploys.
Your account
You need an account to author pathways. Registration is reviewed by a person. Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Do not share an account between people — invite them instead.
Who owns what you author
You do. You keep all rights in the pathways, documents and content you create. We host them so the product works. We do not use your pathway content to train models, license it to anyone, or share it with other customers.
With one exception you should know about. If your account is linked to an institution, the title of each pathway you save is added to an index shared within that institution, along with your member identifier and any training-program details on your record. The pathway itself — every node, recommendation and piece of evidence in it — stays private. You can switch this off for your own account in your identity settings. The Privacy Policy describes it in full.
You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store, process and display your content back to you and to people you invite.
We own the software, the pathway schema, the review instrument, the consensus method and the evidence registry. Nothing here transfers any of that to you.
Patient information
Do not enter protected health information into the product, other than through the case-review capability that requires an executed business associate agreement with us and explicit enablement by your institution. Outside that path the system is designed on the assumption that it holds none, and you are responsible for what you type into it.
Bring your own AI key
You may supply your own Google Gemini API key. It stays in your browser and we never receive it. Your use of that key is governed by your agreement with Google, and any costs it incurs are yours.
Fair use of the shared AI allowance
Accounts using our shared AI allowance have a monthly cap on requests and a per-account spending limit. When either is reached you can continue by supplying your own key. Do not attempt to circumvent these limits or use automated means to consume the allowance.
How we use data about your use of the product
The Studio records how it is used, keyed to your provider identifier, and we may compute aggregate, de-identified statistics from it and describe them publicly, including in publications. We will not identify you, your content or your institution without your agreement. What is recorded and what is not is set out in the Privacy Policy, which is worth reading rather than assuming.
Acceptable use
Do not use the product to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or misrepresent a pathway as validated, endorsed or approved by CarePathIQ when it is not.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid plans. Free access is provided as-is with no uptime commitment.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for clinical decisions, patient outcomes, or the content of any pathway. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, to nothing.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. You can export your content before you go, and we will keep it available for a reasonable window afterwards.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
